My main interest within research lies within court interpreting, and interpreting within research - and I am currently working on a PhD proposal in this field
Laila Hedegaard Pedersen is Head of the Department of Translation & Interpreting at the University of Greenland where she has been a faculty member since 2014.
In cooperation with a colleague and the Danish Institute for Human Rights, she has published a report on court interpreting in Greenland, identifying challenges which arise in relation to interpretation between Greenlandic and Danish and Greenlandic dialects in court proceedings during criminal cases, to examine if due process is challenged.
Her main focus in teaching is in English, both oral and written proficiency and translation.
