The Åland Islands Peace Institute and Nasiffik - Centre for Foreign & Security Policy at Ilisimatusarfik have signed a cooperation agreement.
In practice, this means exchanging knowledge and research with each other - especially when it comes to issues concerning security policy and international law. The collaboration also makes it easier to coordinate conferences, workshops and seminars, and researchers in each location are given the opportunity to make shorter work exchanges.
"We at Nasiffik can look forward to the fact that we have now signed a cooperation agreement with The Åland Islands Peace Institute", says Maria Ackrén, head of research at Nasiffik - Centre for Foreign & Security Policy.
Sia Spiliopoulou, director at The Åland Islands Peace Institute, is also looking forward to the cooperation: "Greenland is an important part of the Nordic region, where indigenous and sustainability issues meet important constitutional and international issues. We want to learn more and we want to show our support for the Greenlandic society", says Sia.
